I love those milkweed plants. Beautiful flowers; then they grow pods that look like what gave the writer of "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" his idea, and then in late autumn the pods burst open to reveal the most wonderful seeds. Those 'parachutes' are iridescent! I can imagine tine fairies catching a ride on them.
I'm a 59 year old, recently retired science editor. My husband and I, along with Zephyr, our Wire-haired Pointing Griffon, moved in the summer of 2008 from Calgary, Alberta to rural Ontario so I could work my last eighteen months or so under more bucolic conditions. I literally "put myself out to pasture...."
He's very fluffy. He needs a teeny tiny Santa hat.
